The initial indications the Company will pursue involve predictable ischemic events that cause cognitive and neurological deficits. These include vascular surgical procedures and subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). The cumulative market for these indications exceeds $2.5B/year.

Aside from thrombolytic agents such as tPA, there are no approved drugs for stroke. The anticipated favorable safety profile of NeurOp compounds would enable for the first time, prophylactic administration of an effective neuroprotectant to those at risk for stroke. This is an extremely large patient population which includes stroke survivors, patients who have experienced a transient ischemic attack (TIA) or silent stroke, patients with atrial fibrillation and many others. By 2010 this market could easily top $15B/year.
